The Loop The Loop Snow Guard is used for asphalt shingle roofs, slate roofs and cedar shake roofs. The Loop the Loop Snow Guard has a simple design and blends in well with most roofing systems.  It is 5 3/8" long and the loop has a diameter of 1 5/8".  As a general guide, 50 snow guards per 100 square feet of roofing are recommended for roofs 3/12 pitch and less, 75 snow guards for 4/12-5/12 pitched roofs, and 150 snow guards per 100 square feet for 6/12 pitched roofs and greater.
