Maintenance Tips

The key to ensuring your gutter machine remains in great condition for years to come is regular maintenance. A lack of maintenance affects operability and will require more intensive maintenance and/or repairs. Keep your KWM Ironman Machine in peak condition with these simple maintenance tips!

• Perform a daily inspection for debris, loose nuts and/or bolts. 
• Oil the gutter guillotine blade daily with 30 weight oil. This ensures smooth cutting of any material without catching.  Make sure to not get any on the rollers. 
• Clean the catch tray weekly. The KWM gutter machine captures aluminum chips in a catch tray that should be emptied regularly to prevent debris from building up and affecting operation.
• Use an air hose and blow out the machine once a week.

Making Gutters with a KWM Ironman

KWM Ironman Machines simplify the gutter-making process. It’s never been easier to create seamless gutters to suit any customer need, from K-style gutters to half-round gutters. The intuitive process requires just a few steps:

1. Load the gutter coil on the machine. When doing so, pay attention to the type of material recommended for your machine. For instance, the 7” K Ironman Gutter Machine can run ternecoat steel, but it’s not recommended for the 6” Half Round Ironman Gutter Machine.
2. Cut both corners of the end of the material and feed it into the machine.
3. Use the jog button on the back of the machine to start moving the material forward.
4. Move to the front jog button and push it to move the material through the guillotine.
5. Stop after 6 inches of material has run through the guillotine and cut it off.
6. Change the selector switch from “run” and you’re ready to start making gutters!

Note: After the gutter is run out, you can place hangers and downspouts so you’re ready to go for gutter installation. It’s as simple as that!
