Traditional bead gutters have the front bead rolling to the outside where reverse bead gutters have the bead rolling inside the gutter.  They have very similar appearances especially when installed one or two stories in the air.  

The reverse bead gutter is available in custom lengths where the traditional outside bead gutters are only available in 10 and 20 ft. sections.  The reverse bead gutter can use any of the hangers that are available for the traditional bead gutters and can also be used with a number of different internal gutter brackets.

To install reverse bead gutters, you need the gutter materials and the hangers that will secure them to the roof and fascia. End caps and outlets, as well as downspouts, should also be on your list. Hardware, solder, flashing, and other accessories should be on the list, too, along with a ladder, measuring tape, and necessary cutting tools.

Copper naturally oxidizes, or develops a green patina, as it ages. However, it is actually beneficial as the patina provides an additional coating that protects it from decaying and thinning over time. It will not actually cause any damage to the gutters or weaken the copper material. Copper gutters often last for 50 years or more, more than twice that of aluminum.

While they do not have to be soldered it is recommended as soldering typically lasts much longer than gutter sealants.  Ideally a good gutter system should have all of the components reaching the end of their expected life cycle at the same time.
